In (b) the analysis of coherent precession excited in regular spin-transfer torque switching is depicted. In the thermal regime, dephasing is found [right side, (b)]. This results in a loss of correlation and the correlation function |g|, derived from the contrast of the autocorrelation, decreases on a characteristic time scale Δtc which allows a quantitative access.
