Andreas Wolf obtained his degree in atomic and molecular physics at the Technical University of Berlin. While at CERN for research on low-energy antiprotons and ion beam phase space cooling, he obtained his Ph.D. in physics at Karlsruhe University. He then joined Heidelberg University and the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics, Heidelberg, where he presently is an Adjunct Professor and Senior Scientist. His research focuses mainly on electron collisions with atomic and molecular ions and molecular fragmentation dynamics, making use of fast ion beams in combination with merged electron beams, laser sources, and cryogenic techniques.
