David Reis is a physicist at the PULSE Institute for Ultrafast Energy Science at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory and Stanford University, where he is an Associate Professor of Photon Science and Applied Physics. He studies ultrafast phenomena using optical and x-ray radiation. Prior to moving to Stanford in 2009, he was an Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Michigan.

Viewpoint: Squeezing more out of ultrafast x-ray measurements

The observation of squeezed phonons by x-ray diffraction allows researchers to study the interactions between ultrafast lasers and matter in a whole new light. Read More »
