Guenter Mahler received his Ph.D. from the University of Regensburg in 1972. Since 1978 he has been Professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of Stuttgart. He has been visiting professor at the University of Strasbourg, Arizona State University, Santa Fe Institute, University of Oregon, University of Queensland, Macquarie University, and University of Capetown. His main interests in research are quantum control, quantum measurement, quantum information processing, and quantum thermodynamics.
