Mattias Marklund

Mattias Marklund received his Ph.D. in the field of general relativity, and has since held positions at Umeå University, Sweden, University of Cape Town, South Africa, the Swedish Defence Research Agency, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, and Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany. He is currently Professor of Theoretical Physics at Umeå University, Sweden. His research interests include nonlinear physics, strong field physics, and plasma physics. His work has received several awards, such as the Royal Swedish Academy Tage Erlander Prize in 2005, and his research is supported by the Starting Independent Researcher Grant from the European Research Council.
