Neil Broderick is a lecturer in the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton and works in the Optoelectronics Research Centre. Neil’s research focuses on nonlinear optics in periodic media, including Bragg gratings, photonic crystal fibers, and two-dimensional nonlinear periodic media. He has been involved in the design, fabrication, and applications of photonic crystal fibers for over ten years and is still active in this field. He received his Ph.D. in 1996 from the University of Sydney and since then he has been at the University of Southampton, initially as a postdoc and then as a lecturer.
