Rex Godby

Rex Godby is Professor of Theoretical Physics in the Department of Physics, University of York, where his group’s research focuses on the quantum dynamics of systems of interacting electrons and other complex systems, including studies of the exact Kohn-Sham potential of time-dependent density-functional theory, together with the development of improved approximate TDDFT functionals for problems such as quantum transport. After completing his Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge in 1984, Godby was a postdoctoral researcher at Bell Labs, Murray Hill, and then returned to Cambridge in 1986 as a research fellow, moving to his present position in York in 1995.
