David Rubincam received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Maryland in 1973. He has worked as a civil servant at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center for the past 32 years. His main interest is secular effects in the solar system, such as tidal friction, the Yarkovsky effects, and YORP (the Yarkovsky-Radzievskii-Paddack effect).
