Dilano Saldin obtained a D.Phil. from the Department of Materials at the University of Oxford in 1975. He then worked as a postdoc in both the Materials and Engineering Departments at Oxford, before moving to the Physics Department at Imperial College London. He has been at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee since 1988, where he is now a Distinguished Professor. His research covers all aspects of the use of radiation to study matter.
