Emanuela Del Gado is a professor of theoretical physics at Georgetown University in Washington DC, where she is a member of both the Department of Physics and the Institute for Soft Matter Synthesis and Metrology. Previously she was a professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geomatic Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich. She uses statistical mechanics and computational physics to model the structure and dynamics of engineering materials including amorphous solids, gels, and glasses.
