Enrico Rinaldi is a research scientist in artificial intelligence at Arithmer Inc. in Roppongi, Tokyo, and a Visiting Scientist at the RIKEN iTHEMS center in Japan. He received his Ph.D. in theoretical particle physics from the University of Edinburgh, UK, and then moved to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, California, to work on computational methods for quantum field theories. He later obtained a Special Postdoctoral Fellowship from RIKEN to pursue a research program focused on using supercomputers to study dark matter theories. His research focuses on data-driven and computational methods to study quantum physics and applications of state-of-the-art machine-learning algorithms to solve outstanding problems.
