Erin Teich is a postdoctoral researcher in the Complex Systems Lab at the University of Pennsylvania. Her primary interests lie in the realm of soft matter physics, with a focus on the local rules that govern self-organization or its failure in materials. She stands on the shoulders of the pioneering women and minorities in physics who have come before her, and she hopes that local behavioral changes will promote more equitable self-organization of the field of physics in the present and future.
