Hans O. U. Fynbo is an associate professor of physics at Aarhus University, Denmark. He received his doctoral degree from Aarhus University in 1999 on beta decay of exotic nuclei. His postdoctoral work was at the ISOLDE facility at CERN, continuing the study of exotic nuclei using both beta decay and reaction studies using the REX-ISOLDE post accelerator. He rejoined Aarhus University in 2002 and became an associate professor in 2010. His current research interests are on nuclear astrophysics and nuclear structure physics of light nuclei.

Rotations of the Hoyle State in Carbon-12

New scattering experiments provide evidence for the long-suspected existence of an excited rotational state in carbon-12, related to a state that’s crucial in stellar fusion reactions. Read More »
