Igor Lesanovsky is Associate Professor and Reader in Physics at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. His group carries out research on atomic physics, quantum optics, and nonequilibrium dynamics of closed and open quantum systems. Currently, a strong focus of the group’s research is on the exploration of many-body quantum states and relaxation phenomena in strongly correlated spin systems.

Excited atoms spin out of equilibrium

Excited cold atoms in Rydberg states behave similarly to certain spin systems, providing us with a versatile toolbox with which to study nonequilibrium phenomena. Read More »
