James Bennett is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Queensland, Australia. He is also a member of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems. He has a background in quantum optomechanics, including hybrid atom–optomechanics, pulsed optomechanics, quantum heat machines, and measurement-based feedback control. Since completing his Ph.D. in 2017, Bennett has focused on readying state-of-the-art optomechanical magnetometers for deployment in practical applications such as through-Earth communications.
