Jason Alicea received his Ph.D. in 2007 from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is currently a Professor of Physics at Caltech.  He is also a member of Caltech’s Institute for Quantum Information and Matter.  His research explores various aspects of condensed-matter theory, particularly exotic phases of matter with utility for fault-tolerant quantum computation.

A Hot Topic in the Quantum Hall Effect

Heat transport studies of fractional quantum Hall systems provide evidence for a new phase of matter with potential applications in fault-tolerant quantum computation. Read More »
