Jason Alicea received his Ph.D. in 2007 from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is currently a Professor of Physics at Caltech.  He is also a member of Caltech’s Institute for Quantum Information and Matter.  His research explores various aspects of condensed-matter theory, particularly exotic phases of matter with utility for fault-tolerant quantum computation.
