Jeff Lundeen completed a Ph.D. in experimental quantum optics and quantum information at the University of Toronto on the subject of quantum measurement. As an NSERC postdoctoral fellow at the University of Oxford, he pioneered the full tomographic characterization of a quantum detector. He then became a Research Officer in Quantum Metrology at the National Research Council of Canada where he demonstrated the first direct measurement of the quantum wave function. He is now an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa where he performs experiments on single and entangled photons using integrated optical chips.

An experiment demonstrates that even when physicists think a quantum particle has followed a single path it might not have. Read More »
