Julie Libarkin is a Professor at Michigan State University. She runs the Geocognition Research Lab and leads model-driven investigations of how people perceive, understand, and make decisions about the planet and human impacts. In addition, her community-engaged research and mentoring addresses inequities in STEM and academia. She tracks academic sexual misconduct cases and will co-lead a workshop in 2019 on fighting faculty and staff sexual misconduct. Libarkin was a physics and geoscience undergraduate major and geophysics graduate student, and she has experienced the three forms of workplace sexual harassment discussed in this Viewpoint.
