Liesbeth M. C. Janssen is an associate professor at Eindhoven University of Technology, where she leads the Non-Equilibrium Soft Matter group and holds the chair of Soft Matter and Biological Physics. Her group uses theory, simulations, and machine-learning methods to study the statistical physics of disordered systems—including glassy, active, and living materials. She obtained her PhD in theoretical chemistry in 2012, after which she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Columbia University and the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Germany. Since 2020, she has been a member of the Young Academy of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.
