Luke Govia is a research scientist at IBM Almaden Research Center, California, where he works on characterizing and benchmarking for quantum computers. Previously, he was a scientist at RTX BBN Technologies, Massachusetts, and held postdoctoral researcher appointments at the University of Chicago and McGill University, Canada. He holds a PhD from Saarland University, Germany, and an MSc and BSc from the University of Waterloo, Canada. During his PhD and his time at RTX BBN, he worked on microwave photon detection using superconducting circuits.
