Marlene Turner is a staff scientist at CERN in Switzerland and the experimental coordinator of the AWAKE experiment, a research and development project on proton-beam-driven plasma-wakefield acceleration. In 2023, she was recognized with the Simon van der Meer Award for her contributions to laser- and beam-driven plasma-wakefield acceleration. Turner is deeply committed to advancing sustainable accelerator technologies and promoting science communication.
