Matthias Weidemüller holds a Chair for Experimental Physics at the Physics Institute of the University of Heidelberg and is Director of the Heidelberg Center for Quantum Dynamics. His research focuses on atomic and molecular quantum systems at different levels of complexity. The systems under investigation range from highly excited Rydberg atoms over atomic and molecular quantum gases to molecular aggregates.
