Mette Gaarde

Mette Gaarde is the Les and Dot Broussard Alumni Professor of Physics at Louisiana State University. Her research focuses on the ultrafast dynamics of atoms, molecules, and solids interacting with femtosecond and attosecond laser pulses. She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and was a research assistant professor at Lund University, Sweden, before joining Louisiana State University. She is currently serving as the 2023 chair of the APS Division of Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics.
