Michael M. Scherer is a research group leader at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Cologne, Germany. Previously, he worked as a Research Associate at RWTH Aachen University and Heidelberg University in Germany and at Simon Fraser University in Canada. He received his doctoral degree in theoretical physics from the Jena University, Germany. In his research, he studies emergent phenomena in correlated electron systems and also explores questions in the field of high-energy physics, such as the vacuum stability of the Higgs potential and completions of the standard model.
