Niseem Magdy Abdelrahman is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Texas Southern University. He earned his PhD from Stony Brook University, New York, where he conducted research as part of the STAR experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). Following his doctorate, Abdelrahman held postdoctoral positions in the physics departments at the University of Illinois Chicago, Stony Brook University, and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In 2024, he received the RHIC-AGS Users Merit Award for his contributions to studying viscous and chiral properties of the matter created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions across various systems and collision energies. Additionally, Abdelrahman participates in scientific writing communities and serves as a reviewer for journals including Nature Physics, Physical Review Letters, Physical Review C, Physical Review D, Physics Letters B, and Journal of Physics G.
