Paul Langacker, who received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1972, is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Pennsylvania and a Member at the Institute for Advanced Study. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science and has served on the High Energy Physics Advisory Panel, the Division of Particles and Fields Executive Committee, and the editorial boards of Physical Review Letters, Physical Review D, and Reviews of Modern Physics. He specializes in relating fundamental theory in particle physics to experiment. He recently published a textbook, The Standard Model and Beyond, for CRC Press.
