R. Du Toit Strauss received his PhD in physics from the North-West University, Potchefstroom, South Africa, where he is currently a professor in physics. He is an alumnus of the Fulbright and Alexander von Humboldt associations and holds an adjunct position at the Department of Space Science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. His primary research interests involve the modeling of cosmic-ray propagation through the turbulent heliosphere.
