Scott Parkins is an Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, and a member of the Dodd-Walls Centre for Photonic and Quantum Technologies. His field of research is theoretical quantum optics, with particular emphasis on cavity quantum electrodynamics, or cavity QED, and its applications to studies of conditional quantum dynamics, nonclassical state preparation, and many-body quantum physics. In 2009 he was recognized as an Outstanding Referee by the American Physical Society.
