Shiling Liang is an ELBE postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Systems Biology Dresden in Germany. He has affiliations at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics and the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems, both in Germany. He received his PhD in physics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) in 2024. In his research, he seeks universal laws in nonequilibrium thermodynamics for systems far from equilibrium and applies them to understand thermodynamic constraints on biological functions.
