Timothy Atherton

Tim Atherton is a condensed-matter theorist and education researcher interested in computation, soft matter, and shape change. Originally from England, he did his Ph.D. in the UK at Exeter University and completed postdoctoral work at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. Since 2011 he has been faculty at Tufts University in Boston. He has worked on LGBTQ+ issues in physics since 2009 and is a Cottrell Scholar, NSF CAREER awardee, and an Out to Innovate LGBTQ+ Educator of the year.
