Varun Narasimhachar is a theoretical physicist whose work lies at the interface of quantum mechanics, information theory, and thermodynamics. His doctoral research at the University of Calgary, Canada, shed light on the role of quantum superposition in thermodynamics. In his postdoctoral work at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, he has contributed to the study of processes with complex stochastic dynamics and their thermodynamic properties, as well as advancing the science of “resource theories”—a family of mathematical models that formalize the study of resources underlying diverse quantum technologies.
