Vivian França is an Assistant Professor of Physics at São Paulo State University (UNESP), Brazil. She received her Ph.D. from the University of São Paulo, Brazil. She carried out postdocs there and at the University of Freiburg, Germany. As a theoretical physicist, she investigates the behavior of entanglement, quantum phase transitions, and exotic states of matter in quantum many-body systems, applying tools from both quantum information and condensed-matter theories.  She is also involved in projects to engage women in science.
