Vladimir Eltsov is a senior scientist at Aalto University, Finland. He obtained his Ph.D. in physics from the Kapitza Institute, Russia, in 1997. Since then, he has worked on experimental studies of superfluid helium-3, first at the Helsinki University of Technology and later at Aalto University, both in Finland. His research interests cover the structure and dynamics of vortices and other topological objects in superfluid helium-3; “time crystals” in Bose-Einstein condensates of magnon quasiparticles; and novel topological phases realized in confined superfluid helium-3.
