Alan McGaughey is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He holds B.Eng., M.A.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from McMaster University, the University of Toronto, and the University of Michigan, respectively. His research group develops and applies computational tools to study nanoscale transport phenomena in materials used in thermal transport and energy conversion applications. In 2015 he was recognized as an Outstanding Referee by the American Physical Society.
