Dmitrii E. Makarov received a PhD in theoretical physics from the Institute for Chemical Physics, Russia, in 1992. Since 2001 he has been on the faculty at the Department of Chemistry at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also a core faculty at the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, also at the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests are in the field of computational and theoretical chemical physics, with current research topics ranging from quantum reaction rate theory to molecular biophysics.
