Eric Altman is Professor of Chemical Engineering at Yale University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Naval Research Laboratory before moving to Yale in 1994. His research focuses on determining the atomic scale mechanisms of chemical processes at surfaces. Current research topics include fundamentals of transition metal oxide catalyst surfaces, chemical imaging of surfaces, ferroelectric surfaces and interfaces, and the initial stages of oxide epitaxy on semiconductors.
