Nicolas Chamel is a FNRS research assistant at the Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. He obtained a Ph.D. in theoretical physics in 2004 at the University Pierre and Marie Curie in Paris, France. He is interested in various aspects of compact stars, including superfluidity in neutron-star interiors. He has been also working on the development of nuclear energy density functionals for nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics.
