Alan Dai is a PhD student in chemical engineering at Stanford University. He received a BSE in chemical engineering and a BS in chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. He currently works on developing nanoparticle photocatalysts for sustainable chemistry, using electron microscopy and spectroscopy to characterize their behavior in situ under reactive conditions. When not doing science, Dai is an avid (semicompetitive) runner and tabletop roleplaying game enthusiast.
