Avik Ghosh holds an undergraduate physics degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Ohio State University. He is now Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Department of Physics at the University of Virginia. His research interests lay primarily in exploring strongly nonequilibrium charge and spin transport and connecting properties of emerging materials with low-power electronics. He is a recipient of an NSF Early Career award, Fellow of the Institute of Physics, UK, and site director of an NSF Industry-University Cooperative Research Center on Multifunctional Integrated Systems Technology. He is the author of the book Nanoelectronics: A Molecular View.
