Edouard Hannezo obtained his Ph.D. in 2014 from Institut Curie and Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris. After completing postdoctoral work at the University of Cambridge in 2017, he became an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Science and Technology in Austria. He applies his background in soft matter to various theoretical problems in biophysics, including the mechanics of animal tissue, pattern formation in active materials, and stochastic fate choices in stem cell populations. His team is particularly interested in the self-organization processes that occur on multiple length scales during morphogenesis.
