Gennady Shvets received his Ph.D. in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1995. He is presently a Professor of Physics at The University of Texas at Austin, where he is pursuing research in several experimental and theoretical areas of optics, including metamaterials, nanoplasmonics, and interaction of ultraintense lasers with plasmas.
