Ilya Sinayskiy is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Chemistry and Physics at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). After completing his Ph.D. at Samara State University, Russia, in 2007, he worked as a postdoc at UKZN and as a researcher at the National Institute for Theoretical Physics in South Africa. He is a theoretical physicist interested in the theory of open quantum systems, with application in quantum information theory, quantum biology, and quantum and classical machine learning.
