Jorge O. Sofo received his Ph.D. from Instituto Balseiro, Bariloche, Argentina, in 1991. He is currently an Associate Professor of Physics and Materials Science and Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University. He is also the Director of the Materials Simulation Center, a facility of the Materials Research Institute at The Pennsylvania State University. His research deals with a wide variety of topics involving the development and application of many-body quantum mechanical methods to atomic, molecular, and extended systems.
