Jochen Wosnitza studied physics at RWTH Aachen University and received his Ph.D. in 1988 from the University of Karlsruhe (now KIT). After a postdoctoral stay at Argonne National Laboratory, he returned to Karlsruhe in 1995. He became a professor at the Technical University Dresden in 2001. Since 2004, he has also been director of the Dresden High Magnetic Field Laboratory (HLD) at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf. His research interest focuses on strongly correlated electron systems, especially unconventional superconductivity and frustrated magnetism. In 2011 he was recognized as an Outstanding Referee by the American Physical Society.
