José Aumentado is the group leader of the Advanced Microwave Photonics Group at NIST Boulder, Colorado. He obtained his Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 2000. He then joined NIST as a National Research Council postdoctoral fellow, studying single-Cooper-pair tunneling devices and early superconducting computing. In 2003, he became a permanent staff scientist. His current work focuses on parametric coupling in quantum circuits, including quantum-limited amplification and nonreciprocity.
