Kartik Iyer is an assistant professor in the Department of Physics and the Department of Mechanical Engineering–Engineering Mechanics at Michigan Technological University. He received a Ph.D. in aeronautics from the Georgia Institute of Technology and then went on to complete postdoc appointments at the University of Rome, Italy, and New York University. His main research interests are nonequilibrium complex systems, where he looks at things such as turbulent flows and transport of active and passive substances by such systems.
