Ludwig Bartels

Ludwig Bartels is a surface scientist with research interests in scanning tunneling microscopy and its application to investigations of molecular dynamics and pattern formation at metal surfaces. He received his doctorate from the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, followed by postdoctorates at the Paul-Drude Institut for Solid State Electronics and at Columbia University. He is currently a professor at the University of California, Riverside.
