Matthieu Bellec received his PhD from the University of Bordeaux, France, in 2009 for his work on laser nanostructuring in glasses. After a postdoctoral position in which he studied laser filamentation at the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser of the University of Crete, Greece, he joined CNRS as a researcher at the Nice Institute of Physics of Côte d’Azur University, France. His research is focused on photonics in laser-structured, complex media with a special emphasis on fluids of light and on topological photonics. Between 2019 and 2021 he was a visiting researcher at the Centre for Optics, Photonics and Laser of Laval University in Canada.
