Sebastian Schmidt is a senior lecturer at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. He received his Diploma from the Free University of Berlin in 2003, completed his Ph.D. at Yale University in 2008, and spent a semester as a visiting fellow at the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science (PCTS) in 2010. His present research is at the interface of condensed matter, quantum optics, and quantum electronics with a focus on many-body physics, out-of-equilibrium systems, and applications of quantum simulations, quantum metrology, and quantum annealing.
