Vera Guarrera is a lecturer at the School of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Birmingham and a researcher at the National Physical Laboratory. She obtained her Ph.D. in physics at the European Laboratory for Non-linear Spectroscopy (LENS) of the University of Florence, and she has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut Non Linéaire de Nice, at the University of Kaiserslautern, and at SYRTE-Observatoire de Paris. Her research is focused on ultracold quantum gases, and she is currently working on the realization of trapped and guided interferometers with Bose-Einstein condensates.
